Classroom Management
My behavior management is a positive reinforcement system. Each day the students earn points for participation, helping others, and being on task. Once they reach a certain amount of points they get a reward, which are listed in the "Rewards" document below. Once the whole class reaches a certain amount of points the whole class gets a reward, which are listed in the "Rewards" document. The points are recorded on Class Dojo weekly. This way the students can see how many points they have and how many points the whole class has to reach our goal.
We weekly challenges, where the students are split up into two seperate groups. Those groups compete to see how many 100s, 90s, and 80s they can score on i-Ready for the week. After the week is over we tally up the totals and one group gets to keep their points on class dojo and the other group gets their individual points for 100s. Also in this picture shows our "Crewmate of the Day." In this challenge there is a random student chosen each day, and if they participate in each class, have their camera on all day, and comes to class on time then the whole class gets 3 class dojo points. If the student does not then we talk about how we could improve and how we can reach our goals. This student remains anonymous during the whole process. At the end of the school day I inform the class if the student was meeting expectations or if they did not, which is where the growth discussion comes in where we talk about how to improve.
